Sunday School
Sunday School is offered in on Sundays at 10:00 AM
(arrive at 9:55 Am to start on time!), October through May.
The Children participate in a children's service with games
and education that are based on the lectionary readings
of the day. The children's service concludes in time for
the entire Sunday School to join the rest of the congregation for
Holy Communion.
The Sunday School takes part in several events each year,
including Blessing of Backpacks at the start of the School Year
and the Annual Tweflth Night Pageant.
About once every six weeks the children of the Sunday School
assist at the Liturgy of the Word at the Sung Holy Eucharist.
Children read the lessons and prayers, as well as assist as acolytes and ushers.
Confirmation Class
"Confirmation is the rite in which we express a mature commitment to Christ,
and receive strength from the Holy Spirit through prayer and the laying on of hands by a bishop."
(The Book of Common Prayer). Older Children are invited begin preparation for Confirmation.
For information, please contact Father Mead.
Would you like to help teach Sunday School?
How about becoming a Sunday School teacher?
There's no experience necessary; all you need is the desire to help
root children in the knowledge of Christ!
Each session is themed and lasts approximately seven weeks,
including six "teaching" Sundays and the final "presentation" Sunday,
where the children present what they have learned to the congregation.
All subject matter and lesson plans are provided,
but you have the freedom to be creative about how you present it.
A new team-teaching approach is being used which will provide lots
of teacher support. Total time commitment is a one-hour evening preparation
meeting in advance of the session and one hour for each of the teaching
Sundays and the final presentation Sunday.
for more information, please contact Jan Corning or Glenn Hintze.
