Information for Parents
Children are always welcome at every event at Good Shepherd, especially worship! This section of the website aims to answer some questions parents (and parents to be) might have.

Are you having a baby?
We are looking forward to welcoming your new little one into the Good Shepherd family, and thrilled to have the opportunity to work with your family as you build a closer relationship to Christ. Please click here for a few frequently asked questions about babies at Good Shepherd.

Childcare is available during the Sunday Worship Service
Nursery & Childcare is offered in the Nursery & Playroom every Sunday of the year from 9:45 AM until 11:15 PM. The Nursery is staffed by a professional nanny who is Red Cross child/infant CPR certified. Parents can easily reach the Nursery & Playroom from the Church Sanctuary.

Sunday School
Sunday School is offered in on Sundays at 10:00 AM (arrive at 9:55 Am to start on time!), October through May. The Children participate in a children's service with games and education that are based on the lectionary readings of the day. The children's service concludes in time for the entire Sunday School to join the rest of the congregation for Holy Communion.

The Sunday School takes part in several events each year, including Blessing of Backpacks at the start of the School Year and the Annual Tweflth Night Pageant.

About once every six weeks the children of the Sunday School assist at the Liturgy of the Word at the Sung Holy Eucharist. Children read the lessons and prayers, as well as assist as acolytes and ushers.

Altar Servers & Acolytes
All children are welcome to assist at the altar. Being an acolyte doesn't mean missing Sunday School! Children can participate in Sunday School and still serve as Acolytes!

Confirmation Class
(Children ages 12 and above) "Confirmation is the rite in which we express a mature commitment to Christ, and receive strength from the Holy Spirit through prayer and the laying on of hands by a bishop." (The Book of Common Prayer). Older Children are invited to begin preparation for Confirmation. For information, please contact Father Mead.
